Your records deserve better than Audacity.

Kadrack Capture is a companion tool that walks you through ripping a vinyl side from start to finish. Record live while the record plays, or import a file you already have. Automatic track splitting, audio fingerprinting, tags. No session files. Just your records, in your library.

  • Vinyl, CD, and cassette
  • Automatic silence detection and track splitting
  • Audio fingerprinting and metadata editing
  • Writes directly to your Kadrack library and your folder structure

The ecosystem

Built to grow with your collection.

Three stages that fit together. Buy the Player today; everything else slots in as it ships. Beta supporters get founder pricing on the whole family.

  1. V1 Available in beta
    Kadrack Player
Player, library, DAP sync. Everything a serious local music collection needs.
  2. V2 In development
    Physical Release: Capture + Mixtape
Capture brings your records into your library — vinyl, CD, and cassette, analog to digital. Mixtape writes real cassette mixtapes back out of it: Side A, Side B, automatic level matching. The full circle.
  3. V3 Planned
    Kadrack Home Server
Your library, always on. Autorip, mobile companion, whole-home access.

I built Kadrack for the people who never stopped buying records.

Who rip their CDs lossless. Who still look at every second-hand walkman. For everyone who loves to own their music and just want software that gets out of the way.

A new generation is rediscovering what it feels like to actually own the music they love. We're building the software that belongs in that world — and the three tools that go with it.

Frequently asked

Things people keep emailing us.

Will Kadrack ever go subscription?
No. One-time purchase. You own the version you buy forever. New major versions may be paid upgrades; minor updates and fixes are free.
Which platforms are supported?
macOS 13+ (Intel / Silicon), Windows 10/11, and modern Linux distributions (Ubuntu 22.04+, Fedora 38+, Arch). An mobile companion app (iOS / Android) is planned.
Can I import my existing iTunes / Apple Music / Plexamp library?
Yes. We import .xml, .m3u, .m3u8, and any folder of files with embedded tags. Play counts, ratings, and date-added preserved where present.
What about streaming?
Kadrack is a local-first player. We have no plans to integrate with any streaming services out of principle.
When can I actually use it?
Private beta begins Q3 2026 for the Player. Waitlist signups get access in cohorts, starting with DAP owners and vinyl rippers (we want your real libraries stress-testing the scanner). Public 1.0 targets early 2027. Capture follows.
